One of Finland’s longest-running and most respected roots rock bands celebrates four decades on the road.

Founded in Kokkola, Finland, in 1986, Wentus Blues Band has built an extraordinary career based on hard work, a deep love for music and an uncompromising commitment to live performance. Over four decades, the band has played more than 3,000 shows across Europe, as well as toured in India and Nepal and performed at major festivals and venues around the world.

What began as a group of young musicians inspired by American blues has grown into a unique musical institution. Along the way, Wentus Blues Band has shared stages and worked with numerous internationally acclaimed artists, while developing a sound of its own that reaches far beyond traditional blues.

The band has released nineteen albums, and its musical journey has also been documented in the award-nominated documentary Family Meeting. The band has appeared at festivals including Pori Jazz, Puistoblues, Helsinki Festival, Notodden Blues Festival, Åmål's Blues Festival and Mönsterås Blues Festival.

In 1994, Wentus Blues Band started its own festival, the Scandinavian Blues Party, which became an important meeting place for blues musicians and audiences for more than two decades. The band's 20th anniversary was celebrated with the acclaimed Family Meeting project, bringing together Wentus Blues Band and a remarkable line-up of international guests.

Now, after 40 years, the story continues.

Wentus Blues Band is:

Four decades, thousands of concerts, countless miles on the road – and a passion for music that remains as strong as ever.
